We signed up our 4 year old boy for swimming lessons at YMCA.He used to be ok with getting in water when he was 3 and for some reason he absolutely scared in going in.He refuses completely to even get in the water and throw a tantrum if "forced" (sterned talking with gentle tugging towards pool). We tried have a long talk before lesson, he agrees to learn, we promised incentives, but as soon as he is at the pool, he changes. My wife thinks we should abandon rest of the lessons. Because 1. he is not even getting into water, 2. It's free and we can try again next year.I just want to hear your opinion. I. Am worried if we do this, then he could do the same for another lessons.I think swimming is different from other skills, it is survival and it should be non negotiable. So should I take him to there and stick it out? Be it standing beside the pool the whole time? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2mGUl3J
