My wife and I (in our early and mid 30’s) have an almost 2 year old. Zero judgement from me on anyone else’s choices for how many kids you have but I can’t get over how many people older than me use the line “you’ll be fine, it will work out” when they ask if we are having a second in regards to how to manage expenses. We aren’t planning a second for a number of reasons but one of the big ones is financially it doesn’t make sense.I refuse to have a second child and have to spread ourselves so thin both kids can’t have what they need or deserve just because society likes the idea of 2+ kids. Anyone else out there get that line like it’s magic that figures out how to pay for a second? We have managed just fine with one financially but I can’t help but want to laugh in their 50 year old face when I hear this. Like oh right I guess I “just let life figure it out” how to have double the daycare costs?TL;DR old people telling me life with sort itself out with having a second kid and how to pay for it drives me nuts. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/31Ioz8D
