So today I wanted to take the kiddos to the pumpkin patch. I have a 4 year old and 6 month old. The last couple years we went to pumpkin patch out near my grandparents(4 hours away in the middle of nowhere) and spent about $30 on pumpkins and a few activities(petting zoo, endless barrel train rides, hay ride, corn pool, corn maze and playground) and snacks. So it wasn’t bad. My grandpa passed this year and grandma is sick so we aren’t doing this anymore so we looked into the 3 pumpkin patches near us(within 45 mins). Holy fuck expensive. They all cost $20 per person(under 1 is free) so that’s $60 just to get in(husband me and daughter). With your entrance fee you get one barrel train ride, a hay ride to the patch, the corn maze, petting zoo, corn pool(basically corn kernels in a pool you can dig in) and the playground. Extra stuff is more then one barrel train ride, the carousel, petting zoo food, pony rides(so probably another $10 on this crap). Then pumpkins range from $10-$50 a piece(probably will spend $20). Then they don’t allow any food or drink so you know we will spend at least $20 on that since my daughter can’t go more then 5 mins without eating and drinking like any 4 year old lol. So this whole trip will cost $110(if not more)! On top of this we will probably only stay maybe 2/3 hours because 6 month old will get cranky. So needless to say we are probably skipping it this year! Who the hell can afford this crap? Why are they so expensive! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2J8IsiJ
