My daughters daycare gave us a mandatory fundraiser. The daycare is upset with us.

On October 4th, they sent a paper home with my 3YO saying that they’re having a fundraiser for Taffy Apples. On the paper it said “buy out for $150”, or “sell $250 worth of apples”.They said that the money/order form is due October 18th. On the 18th we returned the paper; we sold $100 worth of apples (which I think is a pretty good job given that we had two weeks). When I picked them up yesterday, the lady said “well you only gave us $100 sold. You have to either sell $150 more, or give us $50 and you don’t get any apples. Your choice.” And they said they won’t place the order for the apples unless it’s $250 from us. Uhm... what????I’m pissed off about this. I have NEVER heard of a mandatory fundraiser before. We pay $1500 a month for our girls to attend this daycare, and now you’re asking for more money?? We did the best we could in what we sold... they have about 60 kids that go here that pay the same exact tuition as us. There’s no way they need the money this bad. When my husband picked them up today, they were harassing him about it. So we either have to give our family/friends their money back... then come out of pocket for another $150?? For what?? Am I wrong??? I don’t know what to do at this point. I don’t want them treating our girls different, and I don’t want to pay because it’s THE PRINCIPLE!! Like I’m so upset I have an headache lol. I’m this close to reporting them. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/32Hxh8c
