Apologies for phone format.My two boys (4&6) have always loved playing video games. My husband loves them and so he introduced them to video games as soon as he could. I started to be troubled when my younger son (now 4) would talk about killing the bad guys a lot. Coming from such a young mouth it made me uneasy. He was mostly playing games like Sonic and Mario but a big part of each of those games is the killing of the “bad guys”. While both of my boys would talk about how they had to kill the bad guys, I found the way that my younger son talked about it to be a bit unsettling. He just seemed so excited by it.So my husband and I limited them to Minecraft on peaceful mode. This was the most calm and non violent game that we could find. But now he spends his time on that game creating animals or zombies and then killing them. He barely even builds anything. He just creates a bunch of animals and creatures and calls them bad guys then spends his time killing them. My husband and I are very unsettled by this and don’t know if it’s really an issue or if we’re over reacting.He has never really shown any violence towards animals in real life. He actually loves animals! He gets excited to pet any dog or cat that he sees and is always gentle. He will squish a spider or big from time to time, but nothing too serious.Am I overreacting?
