I’m not affiliated or anything, just a happy user. “Teach your monster to read” is a set of games that teaches phonics (and some sight words) in a comprehensive, fun, and quirky way. It’s developed by the Usborne Foundation and is always free on the computer browser. The app is usually around $5, but it’s free for this week only. This is by far my (and my kid’s) favourite reading app, so I really encourage you to try it out.The app does not have “pay to unlock more”. Once you get it, you can access all the material forever. There’s no way to spend real money in the app.The game is split into 3 long sections. If your kid has already learnt some phonics, you might want to start at the 2nd or 3rd section by changing the account setting on the web site. Here is more info on what is taught in each section: https://ift.tt/2TbATPj you have multiple kids, each kid can have a different account so that their progress is tracked individually. The progress between the app and the PC versions are synced. The game is British and sounds it. American parents may have to assist/intervene for certain sounds. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2TfABqE
