Social worker called because my kid was tired?!?

Do we really have THIS much oversight?My FOUR YEAR OLD in special needs pre-K is just getting over strep throat and an ear infection last week, today was his 1st day back to school. His sleep schedule got all out of wack from being sick and sleeping during the day those days, and my husband died so it's me on my own trying to get him back on track. He is nonverbal and has never really slept right since hes been born...so even with the help of my husband this has been 4 years of challenge.So I sent him to school, he had a bad night last night, only slept about 5 1/2 hours, he woke up fine with lots of energy so I sent him in. I figured hed just go to bed early this eve and hed be back on regular track for tomorrow. If I had kept him home, I'd likely get in trouble for him missing too much school, and I cant exactly go get a drs note because he was tired for hells sake.So this afternoon, I get a call from one other than the schools CPS SOCIAL WORKER, because clearly, him sleeping at school today was cause for concern. She suggested PARENTING CLASSES for me since I clearly am doing a shit job as a mom, since my 4yr olds sleep is off track after being sick.Theres kids out there being beaten by their parents, kids who live in filth and are neglected or abused, and I'm being raked over the coals because my kid was tired today.WTF is the world coming to?! I'd homeschool him if he didnt benefit so much from the structure of school! Gahhh I just needed a vent, but damn if this doesnt have me livid. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2tOHNef
