Seriously. Just had a talk with my 11 year old daughter about film and TV and stuff, and I told her how when I was a kid (in the 1970s), there were no female role models and all ... and then I asked her who she identified and identifies with, in terms of stories told by modern media. This lead to an incredibly insightful talk about her wants, needs, and self image. Things she would have never told me when asked directly. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2zoNmkj
