Adventures with mummy. Today: At the parking garage

Story time cause it's just too good.Last friday my wife and her sister drove with our son to the mall. Around noon they were ready to drive back home. My wife opened the car, threw her handbag (WITH the keys and phone) on the front seat and buckled up little one in his car seat. SIL waited for my wife outside the car. My wife closed the door and my SIL tried to open the front door to get in. Closed... My wife tried the drivers door. Closed... She frantically tried all doors but to no avail. All were closed and little one was inside and wondered why mummy and aunty didn't want to come inside. My wife panicked and wanted to smash a window but luckily my SIL stayed calm and told her to keep calm, they should call the police. SIL called the police and told them what happened. They were very nice and forwarded the call to the firedepartment. Luckily the firedepartment had some firefighter on standby at the mall so they were rather quick at the crime scene.Thank god little one stayed rather calm after my wife and SIL told him what happened and that the firefighters would come in a few minutes and will open the doors. When the firefighters arrived they first tried to instruct my son if he could escape from his car seat and open one door, but he was buckled up to tight. He tried really hard but to no avail. The firefighters were also really nice, they cheered him on to get out of the seat and told him he will get a big icecream after this whole incident. After several minutes they abandonded this idea and tried to open the doors with as little damage to the car as possible (thank you guys ;)). They managed to open the door a little bit and push the button for the central locking with a long wire. Meanwhile little one fell asleep in his car seat. Too much input for his little brain. ;)So happy end after all but my wife still doesn't know if she should laugh or cry. I still try to figure out why the damn central locking closed all doors when they were opened before. Will have to do some investigation...Little one was my little hero. Didn't cry, stayed calm and tried everything the firefighters told him to. After the whole ordeal my wife told him he now will get a BIG icecream. His response: "But mum, I already had one today!" via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2i3WNyB
