We will be moving in the middle of December. My five year old son goes from being absolutely opposed to completely ecstatic. He went house shopping with us, and has met our realtor several times. She's always so upbeat when she interacts with him and talks to him about how awesome it will be to move, so we've got some outside encouragement, at least. We're only moving 2 miles away, so he doesn't have any fears about losing friends or a familiar location. But he's 5, he's super into Christmas this year and he's scared that Santa won't come. He's scared he won't have a bedroom, so he can't get toys. He's panicked that the new yard is too small for reindeer. He thinks the fireplace is too small. Just everything.I am leaving a few (non fragile) things out to decorate, and we'll put the tree up in the old house. It's one that folds easily, is prelit and has a storage case, so it can easily be moved.I thought about maybe letting him bring our Santa stop sign to put in the yard at closing? Maybe let him take our new address along when we visit Santa? And maybe I'm way over thinking this, my brain is kinda stretched thin from all the paperwork, logistics and whatnot that come with buying a house. But if anyone has moved near Christmas, and has some ideas of how they helped ease their kid's stress and fears, I would greatly appreciate reading them! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2zRadGf
