My 6 year daughter wants to know why she can't paint her skin brown to be Moana for Halloween....

...so how do I explain why? I've always tried to avoid the "because I said so" answers, but I've tried to explain how skin painting to look like another race is not ok, but she just isn't getting it. She says it's no different than being green last year for Ms. Martian. Any ideas on how simplify an explanation?
