I am the father of four amazing daughters and have been struck by the difference in thought and parenting philosophy (generally speaking) when speaking to fathers of only sons.Parents of sons. You have an awesome responsibility. All too often I’ve heard “boys will be boys” to cover all manner of offense from the inappropriate comment in the locker room to outright instances of aggravated sexual assault. Yes, I have a responsibility to raise my daughters to be discerning women. But that’s only half of the deal. Teach your boys what it means to love sacrificially, to respect women, and to fight for safety, equality, and freedom. This isn’t a political issue, this is a human dignity issue.
