Lately my seven year old son has been asking my partner if he can call call him ‘dad’. My sons father is a part of his life, and he calls him ‘dad’, but my son also recognizes that my partner is more of a dad than his actual one. My son is also at an age where titles feel important and calling my partner by his name just isn’t going to cut it.
