First of all, I apologize if this doesn't belong here. Just not really sure where to postSecondly, I understand that people have different parenting styles and that there are no "right" answers. We just have no idea where to start or what's normalI won't get into the messy details but my husband's nephews (11 and 15) are moving in with us. I've never met them before and my husband hasn't really had much contact with them in the last 10 years so we're really going into this blind. Plus neither of us has any experience with kids these agesWe have no idea how to parent. Like do 11 year olds have bedtimes? Are we supposed to monitor their phones? Internet time? Social media? How are we supposed to punish them? What are we even supposed to punish them for??Their father was pretty indifferent when we started asking about these kinds of things saying not to worry about it because they're "not babies" and "not bad kids." We honestly aren't sure if they really are good kids who don't need a lot of rules or if he just doesn't care. And if they are good kids, should we just let them do their own thing. I know at 11 years old he isn't really a little kid but they still need parenting right?Sorry for the rambling- this is all just so overwhelming. Just hoping they're old enough that we can't completely screw them up via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2TYOlGo
