My son (15 months) underwent his first of two hypospadias repair surgerys three months ago. Yesterday we had an appointment with the surgeon (specialist in correcting hypospadias) and as I already knew he said that it did not heal perfectly as it should and still looks a bit off. He said that he will fix this with the second surgery (which was also planned before to correct the foreskin). We wanted the foreskin reconstruction, but the doctor said that circumcision is less likely to have complications, but ultimately it is our choice to make. I dread the thought of a third surgery not only bc it is another surgery but also bc the clinic is three hours away and it would cost us much money to make a third trip and stay there again.Now we are unsure if we should circumcise him to make complications less likely or if we should opt for the foreskin reconstrucion. In our area (Germany) most people are uncircumcised.
