My daughter(14) was assaulted at school today.

I got a phone call on my lunch break(good timing). It was my daughter saying she had a headache, and wanted to come home. I wasn't about that, so I pressed her for more info. It turns out she had been attacked in the halls, and had a large lump on her head. There are a group of what she calls, 'pretty, mean girls.' She says, in first period, one of them was being ruder than normal. My daughter is pretty nerdy, and I'm sure she shrugged this girls' agression off. I don't know what was said by the other girl, but it was along the lines of 'I dont like you.' Pretty innocent if you ask me.Well, my lunch coincides with her 5th period; when this happened. She was surrounded by the PMGs in the hallway, and the girl from first period pushed her. My daughter turned and walked away, and this girl grabbed her by the hair and THREW her to the ground. The assault was recorded on snapchat. I have the grainy video(kids these days, handing over the evidence.)My daughter doesn't have any idea why this happened. We filed a report with the school police, and my daughter stated that she would like to press charges against this other girl. Do we need to act further? We have a case number and such. Now my daughter is scared to go to school. What can I do, as her father, to help protect her during these next few weeks, until she feels more confident? I have talked with her, and advised her to always defend herself if there is no other option, but to basically ask the school to help her. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2xOo7su
