Would you be okay with a sliding door to a third story balcony in your child's room?

My husband and I bought a new house in the spring. The top floor of the house has a long, skinny balcony that runs the width of the house. There are sliding doors to access the balcony from both the master bedroom, and one of the other bedrooms. It's a 3 bedroom house, so we have one of our sons in a normal bedroom, and the other son is in the room with the sliding door. The balcony is about 3 stories high. My son is 4.The sliding doors in both rooms are really old and crappy and need to be replaced (they look terrible and make the rooms really cold in the winter). Since we will be doing the work anyway, I want to replace the door in my son's room with a giant window. My husband disagrees. I won't get into our reasons why/why not because I don't want to bias the discussion too much. But I just wanted to "poll" some other parents to see if I'm really being crazy - would you want to replace the door with a window? Or leave as is?Thanks! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2IarNJU
