I refuse to participate in school fundraisers. Am I a bad person?

It seems like every few weeks my daughter comes home with some packet of crap to sell to raise money for the school. They actually expect either a:Me and my daughter will go door-to-door to sell this garbageI will bring the brochure to work or to my friends and bother them until they buy somethingI refuse to do this. It's almost like an MLM. Maybe I am a bad parent, but it simply does not make sense to me. I have the following concerns, maybe some of you can help me out:How much of the money does the school actually get to keep? For example, if we sell a $20 watermelon knife, how much of that money does the school get to keep?Where does the money go? I am skeptical by nature and I assume it is lining the Superintendent's pocket.Why is this money even needed? We pay for lunches, we pay for field trips, we pay for school supplies. If there is more money needed can't taxes simply be increased?​I would rather be told "We need $20 from each family for 3 new computers" than some ambiguous fund raiser in which we have no idea where the money goes. Or I would rather pay $20 and go see a school play or something like that.​Also, her AFTERCARE program had the audacity to ask us to do a fundraiser! We pay them weekly!
