She'll be 10 this summer. Her entire life she's dealt with sensory issues. She would be woken by garbage trucks at five in the morning and terrified of the noise. She would cower when a helicopter flew over head.Any surprising loud noises would put her into hysterics regardless of who tried to console her. The first time she had to sit through an actual thunderstorm she was up the entire night vomiting and unable to sleep. At the time her mother was in Scotland for two weeks and she still remembers it.Yesterday she was outside with me walking around in the rain with her boots and a rain jacket splashing in puddles while the thunder was overhead. When we got back inside my wife was tearing up after realizing my daughter had been out in the storm with me the entire time. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2J7GNb9
