The principal called today to let me know that my son brought a razor blade to school. Today was a student's first day back after attempting suicide. He and his friends thought it would be funny to give her the razor blade. They are 13 years old.He had his phone and computer taken away during the summer, after saying things like "kill yourself" on social media. I've explained to him how harmful this is, and even read articles to him about people getting into trouble for encouraging suicide. He doesn't seem to understand how horrible it is, and simply taking his electronics away and having talks obviously isn't enough.Aside from taking him to therapy (already planning to talk to his father about it later tonight) how else can I help him learn? We are also meeting the girl and her parents Wednesday, I know we'll have that opportunity to apologize but I want him to actually do something meaningful for this girl. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2wCNXhp
