Not sure if this is the right group, but looking for some advice in a complex & concerning parenting situation - giving some background:My son is 6, I have custody and am married, his mother is bi-polar and she has visitation every other weekend. His mother was allegedly sexually abused as a child. Not to give too many details, but the mother still sleeps in the same bed as my son when she has her visitation and I generally feel that there is an unhealthy dependency that she puts on our son - psychologists stated that he is not being allowed to individuate.Yesterday out of the blue I was sitting next to my Son and he stated "Remember when i turned 6 and I was with my mom? In the afternoon, my mom had to stick her hand in my pants to check my penis, she said she had to check my six year old penis".I was blown away by this and at first thought I misheard him. I asked him if he had an itch or got hurt or something happened where she needed to check and he said “no, she said she just needed to check my six year old penis”.We’re very concerned by this story, my son typically does not misquote. Wanted to get thoughts on how to best address this. On face value this incident seems very inappropriate and i’d be sickened to think abusive. I know if I confront his mother she will deny the story entirely (one of her biggest challenges having bi-polar is she tells chronic lies).Help - thoughts on how to address this? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2xC5QRz
