My son is sick and I'm the only one getting up.

I know this isn't a unique situation, but it's so frustrating! Our son came down with a head cold and just started wailing at 11:30pm because he couldn't find his handkerchief. I was the only one who woke up to help him. My husband and my father-in-law (we live with him) slept through the whole thing. What is it that allows them to just lay there and snooze away like there isn't a 5 year old having a snotty meltdown? Is it that they know subconsciously that I'll get up? I have moments where I want to lay in bed and see how long it will take for someone else to deal with midnight potty accidents, 2am flus and whatnot, but I feel like laying in bed staring at the ceiling waiting for someone else to adult isn't fair to my son.... The crying stopped as soon as the handkerchief was found and more cold medicine was given. But now I'm wide awake while everyone else continues to sleep soundly. Ugh!/End rant. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2ynGZxd
