Son Won't Eat Without Watching Kid's Cartoons; How To Wean?

So we made an error by showing our kid TV while he eats, and now he's addicted.Our almost one year old son loves listening to/watching Super Simple Songs, a YouTube selection of kids songs with animation. We only showed them to him when he ate, but unfortunately it's gotten to the point where he no longer eats without them.The last few days it's gotten so bad that he watches the cartoons so avidly that he 'forgets' that he's eating and won't even open his mouth, let alone swallow what's in there. Today we tried feeding him with books/toys/breadsticks for him to busy himself with instead, but every time we try this he throws a tantrum.Does anyone have any ideas as to how we can get rid of this association? I appreciate it's our fault that this happened in the first place, but we didn't realise it would become so much of an issue. The last few days he's barely eaten because of this obsession, and when he does it takes about an hour, sometimes more, to feed him a normal amount of food.Any tips? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2jWJTGO
