Shes 6 days into the school year and shes refused to listen to anything the teacher says, hits things when upset, screams at the teacher, doesnt pay attention when someone talks directly to her, she wants to be with the other kids but struggles to interact with them. The other kids have said they are scared of her. The teacher said she should see her doctor asap. My wife and I are frustrated because nothing we do has an impact on her. No form of discipline or reward/punishment changes her behavior, not even in the short run. I've talked to my child and she seems to understand what she does wrong and what will happen when she does bad things but she does them anyway. She's behaves well around me but still is incredibly hyper and often has trouble holding her attention on something. I am going to take her to a doctor very soon but im freaking out right now, worrying if she has a condition like ADHD or something else ever since her teacher called me.
