Do I stay in my non biological daughters (4) life? What do you think about mixed family breakups?

She has called me dad for most of the two years I dated her mother. I had planned to propose but life had other plans for us. My family thinks because she is so young that I should cut all ties, ex thinks I should have 50% custody but I think part of that is because she is hung up on me.
