Leaving to be an Au pair soon - what would you as parent appreciate?

Hey r/parenting! Not a parent myself but I'd like to hear the opinion of some. I'm leaving to be an Au Pair for a five year old boy and a single mum on Tuesday, and I'd be interested to know what you as a parent (or possibly Au pair host?) would appreciate to form a positive first impression - and a lasting relationship together. I got some toys for the five year old, some sweets from my home country and I've got a traditional recipe book, a traditional candle and a magnet from my hometown as well as some self made honey for the mum. I'm just not sure how else I could prepare? Is there anything that stood out really positively for you when you first met your Au Pair? Thanks a lot for the help 😊 via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2vgPrBj
