Update: Son can't reach locker at school. School isn't allowing him to switch or share a locker.

I wanted to update y'all on my post yesterday. There were a lot great suggestions and I thought some of you may be interested in seeing what we decided to do.I talked with my son about many of the things y'all suggested. He thought about it and decided that he would get a doctor's note. He thought that was hilarious and kind of dumb that he needed a doctor's note saying that he was short when he it's obvious by looking at him, but ultimately decided that he likes it better than the other options. We can't get it until after school on Monday, so this morning I contacted his football coach and explained the situation. The coach said that my son could use his gym locker and agreed to writing him a late pass to excuse his tardiness to class since the gym is on the opposite side of the school. I also contacted my son's teachers to let them know that he may be a couple of minutes late and explained why. They were all very understanding and my son said none of them have him any problems when he came into class late today. He let them know that this will only be temporary and that he is getting a doctor's note to get his locker moved. He has a tall friend with a bottom locker down the hall from him and both boys want to switch, so I am hoping this gets resolved pretty easily once we get the doctor's note in. I know we could have went to the superintendent or the news, but my son didn't want to make this a big deal. I respected his wishes in that. Thanks to everyone who commented in the previous thread. I didn't get a chance to respond to everyone, but I read all of your messages and considered all the options. We are hoping for a bottom locker or growth spurt next school year (or a change in policy). Fingers crossed.Original post via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2gbUKeA
