Dammit. I think I'm going to have to have my daughter put back into the psych ward. :-(

She spent three weeks in there last summer. At the time they didn't diagnose her with anything, but they put her on antipsychotics and mood stabilizers. She had been hearing voices and suffering from mood disturbance.She had been doing pretty well on the meds and was seeing a therapist regularly, and then three months ago she told me her dad had sexually abused her from the ages of 8 to 14. So, mystery solved I guess. She's now been diagnosed with PTSD. She also has autoimmune thyroid disorder, and has to take thyroid hormone replacement for that. The thyroid issues also have a major effect on her mental health.Well, I found out today that she has not taken any of her meds for at least two weeks. And she was taking them only sporadically for months before that. She has also been lying about it and telling me every day that she is taking them. And telling her doctors she's been taking them.Her dad was arrested a couple weeks ago, right after she totally stopped taking her meds. And not all of the people on her dad's side of the family believe her, so that is hard for her. She's not doing well.This is well beyond what I am able to help her with on my own. I asked her why she is not taking her meds and she just said she is afraid to do anything. She keeps saying she is sorry. I emailed her therapist who she is going to see tomorrow, an told him to call me. I think she needs inpatient. This fucking sucks. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2aAaBfG
