Let them be little...

"Can you carry me like a baby?" No. I'm tired. You're 4, you're a big boy and I shouldn't have to..I say as I drag my tired body from the comfort and warmth of the couch to carry my 4 year old "like a baby" to bed just one more time."Hugs and kisses!" We just did this. We've done it 4 times. Ok. Last time, I say as I lean in for the sixth round of hugs and kisses. It won't be long before they are scampering off without a moment's hesitation to play with their friends and engage in a world that offers little accommodation to a working mother. My babies are growing up. Even worse than the idea that my children are growing up is that they will do it without me even knowing. And so we carry them like babies just one more time and we give yet another round of hugs and kisses because one day it will be the last time, and I won't even notice.Let them be little, and let it forever be the prayer of parents to carry them just one more time. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2bidJwg
