My 3-year old started a half day Montessori and is really struggling there. He doesn't get the independence they stress and needs more assistance and direction with his day. These teachers on one hand believe in the independence of their teaching style then say they don't have enough staff to dedicate attention to him, so they just let him sit isolated for 20+ minutes at a time by not participating in the group activity because he's not interested. When he went in for his "interview" the teacher ranted and raved about how smart he was during their one-on-one time, and I know my son is very intelligent, but he needs more guidance and assistance as he's rarely one of those kids that says, "I do it myself". Have I just chosen the wrong program for him and should I just pull him out? Any advice is appreciated. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2xwrTGU
