I got irritated with my kid at Target and called her a potato.

Basically, she was being a brat and running off so I put an eight year old in a cart. I chewed her butt out enough for people to be staring at the crazy mom. I ended up calling her a potato. She glared at me and asked why a potato? I have no idea why a potato. (Normally I call her random fruit and veggie names because she laughs. Pumpkin, banana, kiwi. Those are my go to, when she's being cute. And her basic nickname is Bunny.) With no way to stop my mouth it decided to give an answer for me during my rant: I called you a potato because you were just sitting there like a lump and glaring at me with all your eyes! I heard a few adults giggle from an aisle over and apparently I when I don't control my mouth with my brain it can diffuse the situation on its own. She smiled and started behaving again. Any other parents ever have their mouth get ahead of their brain, but it works out? Or not? LOL. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2CZUGJC
