My 8 y/o daughter does this thing (and has been doing it for a couple years) where every time my wife or I share a story with her about something that happened to us in our past, or even something that happened to us recently, she immediately has to make up her own story about something similar that happened to a friend of hers. The story pretty much mirrors our story and she tells it to us with a total straight face as if she's completely sincere about it. It's cute but there's also something alarming about it. I think she's probably just trying to relate to mom and dad in a "grown up" way which is fine, I just don't understand why she feels the need to do it as much as she does? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2QApBiB
