First day of daycare today for our son (2). Drop off went surprisingly smoothly -- he was engrossed with a toy truck and didn't exactly care/notice that I was hugging him, saying goodbye, and leaving (love you too bud ;) ). Off to work I go (2 blocks away). There may have been a meltdown at some point but I wasn't there for it.A few hours later I'm walking down the street between office buildings and who do I see? The daycare out for a walk!Because I am an idiot I fail to turn around and hide behind a bush. Instead I confidently walk past the bunch, wave at my son (who is happily walking along minding his own business) and go "Hi!!"And he's so happy to see me!And then so sad that I'm leaving again.Mumbled something apology at the teacher, said goodbye to my son, apologized again, and ran away to the sound of him having a meltdown.Pro Tip: if you work near your daycare, be careful about being spotted. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2M1yBKx
