In winter I heat my house to 65 F. My daughter (13) complains it's cold (her first complaint came today). I always tell her she can put more clothes on. She does put warm clothes on but when I feel her hands they are still cold a couple hours later so she has a point (for instance when she does homework her hands freeze).Daughter tells me that women prefer 79 F while men prefer 72 F according to some study she read, so 65 F is really cold for her. I vaguely remember reading that a cold temperature is good because then your body makes more insulating (healthy) fat, and if you never freeze you lose your ability to insulate yourself. So I'm wondering what temperature you guys keep your houses at? My wife is fine in 65 F (I suppose she has a bit more muscle and insulation than my kids), my daughter 11 says she prefers warmer than we have but when she wears warm clothes her hands are warm too, and my son 8 is fine. It's only the 13 year old that freezes (mostly hands) with warm clothes on.(Btw, my wife and I were thinking that her freezing might be caused by her eating too little so we suggested she could eat more to produce more heat, but she didn't like that idea.) via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2fNG6Xn
