OK guys so a little bit of background I am a first time mom and also a bit of a geek. My husband and I are regulars at our local ren faire and stuff like that. We also are involved in a lot of things to do with fiber arts so we are out and about a lot. Needless to say it has led to some interesting encounters with other people/parents. The three that stick out the most in my mind are the following. In May when my child was 5 months old we were at a Sheep and Wool Festival and I took her into the bathroom to change a diaper and there wasn't a hook on the diaper changing table so I was struggling a little bit but this woman came up to me and literally tried to take her out of my arms saying "Here you need help let me hold her." I turned around kind of shell-shocked and said "No thank you I'm fine." Kind of sternly but she tried to take my kid out of my arms. Then she proceeded to give me a dirty look like I was the one in the wrong. The second and third ones both happened at my Ren Faire. I or my husband baby wear her at nap time because that's the only way she'll sleep, anyways I had her in the carrier and my husband and I always dress up. This lady comes over to me and starts reaching out trying to touch my baby's feet so I turned away from her and she literally follows me touching her saying "O I want a costume like that, where can I get one of those??" And then laughing like this was a perfectly normal thing for her to do it really set me off I thought it was very strange. The third thing that happened just this weekend, took in the bathroom to change her and she is in cloth diapers. I had two different mom stop me and tell me how brave I was for for cloth diapering her when I'm out with her. I really didn't understand the logic behind that. It's not much different than diapering her at home except I take wet bags with me and throw the wet diapers in there. Anyways my question is what are the strangest things that other people or parents have done or said around your children? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2zAfuRx
