So, I was taking a shower and left my purse on the kitchen counter top. I've had some plugged up sinuses for a week or so, and I had 12 hour claritin D in my purse. For the 10 minutes I left him unattended watching TV, My three year old managed to open up one of the packages, and we assume, eat one. When I got out of the shower I found the empty package on the ground. I rushed him to the ER, where they were advised to watch him for 24 hours and have taken all sorts of tests. Apparently, the real fear is that they will have heart issues or fall asleep and not wake up. Thankfully, he is okay, albeit VERY loopy and lethargic. If he had eaten even one more of them, it would have been very deadly. So, just a fair warning to all of us parents that you should never underestimate your determined toddlers ability to open things. Keep everything locked up and keep your purses up where they can't reach them! I'm sure most parents know this and I'm just a really shitty one, but in case there are a few like me, I hope this helps. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2xYXHGJ
