I tried to be consistent as possible with my children. That said, if we are arguing about a permissive line, if they can present the greater argument, they win. What problems do you see with this?

Now, to be clear, I am a computer science and math major and a philosophy buff so it very rarely happens, but as an example my 12 year old wanted to wear makeup. I didn't have a great reason why I didn't want her to. Mostly out of modesty, conservatism, tradition, social pressures, etc. Her argument was that "we appreciate art in all its forms, and makeup is like art for you face and it is MY face." I let her do her makeup after that. What do you do in situations like this? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2i1YMmQ
