My 6 year old daughter has a serious problem with accepting when she's wrong, and dealing with embarrassment. She will cover her face and just grunt and squeal when faced with the prospect of having to accept that something she did was wrong. It's incredibly frustrating, as we are trying nicely to teach her that sometimes it's good to accept that things we do are not always the right things. This leads to the face covering and squealing/grunting. We often just give up trying to talk to her as she appears not to be taking any notice of us. We have tried everything. Softly approach, harsh approach. Nothing works. Other incidents will set this off in public as well. If she trips over, she is petrified of being laughed at, so much so that she will cover her face and run away. Nothing will put her mind at rest. We need to deal with this behavior before it gets really ingrained. Has anyone any advice ? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2yC8Pc9
