Mother in law doesn't let 5 year old cry

So my five year old, Kerry, doesn't just cry for no reason. She's gotten some pretty severe bumps, bruises and scars none of which she raises more than a whimper about. Example: when she was 2 she was playing and gave herself a bloody nose. She gave no shits and continued to play, only crying because I wanted to check to see if she was ok.So I was shocked on Sunday when Kerry was helping me with laundry and says "I fell off my bike but I left my cries on the sidewalk"That was a weird sentence so I asked her to explain because mommy didn't understand.She says Grammy (mother in law) told her if she falls and gets hurt she has to leave her cries behind.This pisses me off because my daughter doesn't cry about everything, she doesn't run to someone whenever she gets a scrape, if she's crying she's hurt pretty badly. Why wouldn't you be there to comfort a hurt child?I told her it's a good thing to try and be strong but if she felt like she needed to cry about an owie that it's okay.Mother in law has shown that she cannot handle Kerry's energy and even called her a "little asshole" to me one day which I'm still pissed about.Maybe I'm being overly sensitive about what mother in law said but I don't know.
