My kids (two girls ages 10 and 6) live in NY with their mom whereas I live in MD because of work. It's not an easy thing to do and comes with many challenges. Aside from using FaceTime and the phone to try and stay as close I possibly can to them, I bought blank birthday sized cards last year and every week I send them a short letter with a cartoon drawing on them. They love it and get a kick out of the short stories that go along with the cartoons. I just wanted to share in case anyone else was in a similar situation as me and were looking for ideas on how to stay closer to their kids even when they can't physically. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2y8C4Rd
