Hypothetical bullying and how to handle

I pride myself in being well-red in many subjects especially when they pertain to my children. Yet yesterday, My wife and I were discussing bullying (in response to the 8 y.o. who hanged himself in response to bullying) and signs that one might see.We also touched on situations where the school or the perpetrators parents do not do enough to stop the bullying. What does someone do in that situation. As a father of 2 girls under the age of 7, I have learned patience and caution in ways I never would have imagined. But the thought of addressing bullying strikes a chord in me that elicits fury and violence. My older brother lived his whole life bullied and I still see the remnants of those traumas @ 30+ years old. As long as I remembered I always tried standing up for him.My wife asks "what if, you find yourself in a powerless situation where (oldest daughter) is being bullied, and the school and the parents are not making enough of an effort to change it?" "what would/could/should you do then?"And honestly I dont know. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2jQ3jgD
