I was visiting a place of business today and a woman who works there was interacting with my children. This is the second time we've met and both times she has been very accommodating and kind towards my children. She said something today that made me think. My child was getting loud and restless. I reprimanded my child, and the woman said, "no it's fine!"She said "children are like gods, everything they do is right". I don't know if I'm just naive or jaded or an evil hearted monster but that totally goes against how I was raised and how i view children.I can accept that this may be the common beliefs in some cultures, but I have to wonder where the line is drawn. At a certain age? At a certain level of outragousness?Or is there no discipline and somehow they raise children who are better behaved and become more successful adults than the children of "strict" parents?I have been raising my children under the kind of idea where they don't know the difference between right and wrong and I have to correct them when they make the wrong choice. Based on what this woman said to me, nothing my child does is wrong. I'm having a bit of existential crisis over this. Please share your thoughts. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2vnfJRs
