My youngest is about to turn 1 and I'd like to transition him into sleeping in his sibling's room. He hates cribs and for the moment my plan is to 100% babyproof and gate the room, and put him on a floor mattress. However, I can't find any guidelines with respect to mattress safety. For instance, the mattresses that are lowest to the ground are made of memory foam. Is there a risk of suffocating if he sleeps on memory foam?
