Teacher told my 14 year old son that he (the teacher) smokes pot. How would you react?

One of my son's 8th grade teachers was showing pictures of the class on his phone and "accidentally" showed them a pic of the teacher smoking a joint. I live in a weed legal state and I'm pro-legalization (although I don't smoke) so I'm trying to think about this the same way I would if a teacher showed a picture of himself drinking a beer. Still I'm pretty upset. It seems hella unprofessional, and I don't like the way the guy handled it afterwards (talked to the kids about how he grows instead of saying NOT FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLERS!). I don't want to get the guy in trouble -- he's a really good teacher, and I want my son to feel comfortable telling me about stuff like this so I'm being really careful about how hiding my discomfort.
