I think my pediatrician gave my son the wrong vaccine. Is this possible?

Yesterday my son went in for his 18 month check up. I have chosen to vaccinate him, but I am very cautious and prefer to stagger them. So yesterday the only shot he needed was the HIB booster. The doctor said it probably wouldn't make him feel bad or anything. She told us to hang on for the nurse and then we could leave. After 45 minutes of waiting for the nurse (and trying to keep my toddler from destroying the exam room) I went out into the hall to find someone and remind them we were waiting. About a minute after looking, a nurse came running into our room with a tray and one vaccine. She apologized for taking so long and quickly gave him the shot. I asked before she stuck him which vaccine she was doing to verify we were on the same page, and she said HIB.As we left, we noticed that the place was empty. We laughed about it because the nurses had probably forgotten about us all that time and then when they saw me looking around that nurse must have got moving fast.At six this morning, my son woke up with a 102 fever. I thought maybe it was the vaccine and gave him some Motrin. He acted okay the rest of the morning until the Motrin wore off. Then he got a 103 fever.I called the on-call nurse and explained. She asked me if I was sure it was HIB, because she kept saying that sounded more like the chickenpox vaccine reaction. She does not have access to his chart on-call and just had to go by my memory. Her advice was to control the fever with Motrin and if it gets to 104 go to the hospital. Is it possible that, in the nurse's haste, my son was given the wrong vaccine? Or is it more likely a coincidence? I am freaking out and I'm considering taking him to the hospital anyway because this is bizarre. He is very healthy and had no illness before this vaccine! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2pRUc0c
