What do you do for music in kids' rooms?

I always had a tape and/or CD player in my room growing up. I would like to give my 5 year old some way to play music whenever he wants in his room. What kind of music player do you suggest for a kid his age? My ipod broke and hubby and I just use our android phones for music.
