Made several posts related to this issue, but here's one more. Our girl is almost 2 months old, and she's had extreme difficulty with feeding since day 1. For a while we were okay, but in the last two weeks or so, she's been eating far less than her ped recommends. For her age and weight, the ped says she should be getting about 23-24 oz a day. But 18 is a big day for her, and typically it's closer to 15-16. Some days have been as low as 11. My wife is pumping and we're bottle feeding. Her diet is almost exclusively breast milk, with a little formula here and there. We are doing everything humanly possible to get her to eat. I offer her a bottle every 1-2 hours during the day. During a typical feeding, one of two things will happen: either she'll take two drinks and then fall so totally asleep that even yelling (full volume adult yelling) will not wake her, OR she will eat for ten seconds, then cry hysterically for five minutes, and repeat. She eats great during her mid-night feeding, she'll often take more than 3 oz. But except for that one feeding, she never takes more than an ounce and a half. We offer her more, and basically we are trying to feed her every minute of every day, but she just won't eat, and offering her more upsets her. It's getting to the point where I'm pretty sure she associates the bottle with pain. She is wetting like 12 diapers a day, and her urine is nice and clear. She poops once or twice a week, which is odd, but her ped and the internet both agree it's normal for some babies. She is gaining weight, but very slowly, and her gains are decelerating. We're obsessively tracking everything that goes in and out of her in hopes of finding some explanation, but so far nothing has jumped out at us. According to 4 doctors, there are no major health issues that would get in the way of feeding. But I'm really worried she's not getting enough nutrition. I'm scared she won't develop right. What can we do? We'll try anything, including witch doctors. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2rTgeNC
