I don't make a lot of money but my older brother is having a child in about 3 months and I want to get him something. I know nothing about children, so just curious, what do you guys wish you had or loved having after having a newborn?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I was sort of lost, my brother has always been there for me so I want to get him and his wife something after they have their first child in a few months. I'm willing to spend about $100-$150 but I really dont want to get the things they'll probably not need after a baby shower and stuff.What do you guys think? I would ask them but my brother, no matter how much I plead, will refuse I pay for anything so I want to surprise them.I was thinking maybe a really good baby monitor?
