If you could only foster one thing in your children - what would be the most important one in your opinion?

Just hypothetically of course. I'm pretty much struggling with PPD and although everything seems to go sorta nice, I always worry about doing nothing and being a shit mom in general.So... What would be The One Crazy Trick? On one level, I think sports and fitness, or in another way, outdoorsy-ness is really important and nice. It makes the kids happy, connects them to the planet we live on, has plenty of opportunities to challenge and succeed, and of if they're fit, they'll probably be less likely to be picked on later, and more likely to find a job (even if "low-class"). I assume it would also improve confidence. The other aspect - the opposite almost - would be reading. "Instill a life-long love of reading", "person X became a doctor only by reading two books a week", reddit seems to agree on it and reading can be a refuge from any kind of shitty situation. It will of course intellectually enable them to expand wherever they want. Also, we habe many good libraries near.Another option would be a firm moral foundation - knowing how to act rightful and just and caring in any situation, to always be at peace with one's soul. Then the circumstances may be as dire as possible, but they won't despair, and they will know what kind of people are healthy and who is better to avoid. It seems to be immensely important in the confusing times that lie ahead. And now please elaborate on your opinion :) via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2nhNFIJ
