I am a step mother trying to be an amazing role model.

I am looking for tips and advice for the beginner parent that I am. What is a gold rule to live by.I have an amazing bond with my 3 years old step daughter and I wish to give her everything she deserves and more. Her mother unfortunately is not treating her right and my partner and I are currently gathering all the information we can to petition for custody. This kid is brilliant, easy to deal with, beautiful like no other but totally under stimulated.
